Nadya Hadun Kezik
Contemporary Artist, Milan, Italy

I explore the dialogue between the outer world and our inner life through painting and graphic art, predominantly in abstract language. My work reflects the search for belonging, balance, and mindful pause in an often fast-paced and overwhelming world.
Born in Belarus and now based in Italy, I hold a Master’s Degree in Painting from the University of Fine Arts, Budapest, am a four-time Visegrad Fund scholarship recipient, and have exhibited internationally, including Budapest Art Fair and Monaco Art Fair. My experience of leaving one home and building another informs my practice, shaping a vision of art as a space for reflection, empathy, and connection.
Through simple, universal elements -earth, sky, stones, grasses - I investigate how humans create personal worlds, adapt to change, and reconnect with each other and the shared environment. My practice embraces slow looking and art as a therapeutic space, inviting viewers to pause, reflect, and reconnect with themselves.
Beyond the studio, I develop socially oriented programs that bring art into daily life. I created an 8-day free art therapy course for reflection and self-healing, and a three-week intensive program for deeper personal and creative growth. These initiatives extend my artistic practice into society, offering tools for emotional balance, self-care, and shared human values.
Through my work, I aim to make art not just an experience to observe, but a space that empowers, heals, and fosters meaningful connection - helping individuals and communities find calm, presence, and a sense of belonging in today’s complex world.

Home is Earth
Home is Earth is a contemplative art project that creates a space to pause, reflect, and reconnect. It addresses the challenges of displacement, adaptation, and the constant overload of contemporary life, highlighting that even in times of profound change, the earth beneath our feet remains a shared home, grounding us all.
Through slow looking, the project invites viewers to engage with simple, elemental aspects of the world - textures, natural patterns, and subtle traces of human presence - offering a moment of emotional reset and mindfulness, and fostering connection with oneself, with others, and with the natural world. By focusing attention on these understated details, Home is Earth encourages a deeper perception of life and a renewed sense of belonging and shared humanity.
The project emphasizes the therapeutic power of art as a social tool, providing a restorative space where reflection, care, and presence become accessible to all. In a world of constant movement and distraction, it reminds us that pausing, observing, and reconnecting with the essentials - nature, simplicity, and community - is vital for emotional and social well-being.

Garden Herbs
Garden Herbs is a project that draws attention to the need for pause, reflection, and mindful presence in a world of constant mental overload. The project addresses widespread challenges such as burnout, anxiety, and emotional exhaustion, showing how simple, natural rhythms - inspired by garden herbs -can provide grounding, calm, and a sense of belonging.
The work is rooted in art therapy practices, which I openly share on social media through accessible methods. I created these practices as a form of self-help for anyone feeling overwhelmed or emotionally drained, and many participants have shared how they helped them find space for themselves, offering moments of relief and emotional reset where previously it felt difficult to pause.
By inviting viewers to engage in slow looking and intentional observation, Garden Herbs fosters a sense of presence, connection, and shared humanity - with oneself, with others, and with the natural world. The project demonstrates that art can be a restorative, therapeutic, and accessible space, offering practical ways to care for emotional well-being and resilience in today’s fast-paced life.

Cold Bloom
Cold Bloom: The Art of Inner Recovery.

Cold Bloom is a socially-oriented art project designed to create a sanctuary for emotional restoration and mental well-being. In a world characterized by burnout and constant digital noise, it offers a vital space to pause, highlighting that art is not merely for observation, but a profound process of recovery.
The project focuses on the therapeutic power of simple, universal forms - the vastness of the sky, the depth of water, and the silent resilience of plants. By stripping away the complex, Cold Bloom reconnects viewers with the elemental rhythms of nature, providing an "emotional reset" accessible to everyone, regardless of their background. It serves as a visual meditation on the fact that even in periods of stagnation or "inner winter," an invisible process of growth and healing continues within the human psyche.
More than an exhibition, this project emphasizes art as a social tool for care and presence. It addresses the collective need for grounding in urban environments, fostering a sense of shared humanity and inner strength. By inviting the community to engage with these understated natural details, Cold Bloom reminds us that reconnecting with simplicity and the natural world is essential for our collective social and emotional well-being.

This work focuses on a quiet inner state, where emotions are subtle but deeply felt. The dried herbs act as a metaphor for lived experience -something shaped by time, changed, yet still meaningful.
The monochrome palette creates a sense of calm and focus, inviting the viewer to slow down and connect with their own feelings. The emotions embedded in the piece are acceptance, balance, and gentle strength.
This artwork carries those quiet fragments of belonging. Layer by layer, colors and forms reveal emotions that speak to resilience, tenderness, and the beauty of memory.
Series: Slow Looking
Slow looking is the practice of observing the world slowly and carefully. It is not passive watching, but a pause between movement and memory, between a moment and an impression. In a world full of fast images and information, slow looking helps us notice details we usually miss and reconnect with the present moment.

In my paintings, this practice shows through gliding views and fragmented memories. These are not landscapes or places, but traces that remain after movement: a bridge line, a tower silhouette, the geometry of supports, a playground in a field. The works create space for attention without purpose - a state where we just exist, without consuming or using, letting the world and memory be present with us.

In this presence, there is also an element of ecology: caring for our attention becomes a way of caring for the world and ourselves. Slow looking turns fleeting moments into an aesthetic and mindful experience, a pause that protects our inner resources and attention.
From the collection- Trace of Stillness
No line here is random - each one emerged through a dialogue with water, pigment, and time. This piece invites you to slow down and simply be.
Naturalness as a quiet act of presence.

A quiet moment, captured in texture and pigment.
This original mixed media painting brings together natural elements - water, earth tones, and botanical traces - to create a sense of stillness. It's a gentle reminder to slow down, breathe, and reconnect.

Like a soft breath of wind over forgotten paths. This piece holds the memory of wild herbs and earth’s calm. A quiet botanical moment, pressed gently into stillness.

From the series - Immigration

Immigration - what do we gain? Memories!
Memories - what do they give us?

Adapting to something new is never easy. In every corner of the world, you can find something that reminds you of where you come from. When life leads you to leave your home behind, you start looking for something familiar - something that feels like home, something that gives you strength and comfort.
Forced relocation is a deep, emotional journey that challenges your resilience and ability to adapt. You find yourself building a new life while carrying memories of the old one. In this process, the connection to nature and simple things becomes especially meaningful - the feel of the ground under your feet, the warmth of the sun, the sound of the trees.
Wherever we are, the Earth remains our shared home. Different landscapes, new faces, unfamiliar streets - all of them gradually weave into a new chapter of life.
We learn to find joy in small things: a garden planted with your own hands, a street that reminds you of the one back home, a bench in a park where you can simply sit and breathe.
Even when the world around us changes completely, we carry within us the right to peace, happiness, and a sense of belonging. No matter how far we go, we always have the power to create a home - for ourselves and for those we love.

Under our feet — something we all share.
When life changes and we find ourselves in new places, we start noticing familiar things more clearly — a dry patch of ground, the warmth of the light, a texture that feels like memory.
This work is about that moment — when a piece of earth, a surface, a color suddenly feels personal. Abstract shapes carry quiet meanings. Through many translucent layers — tea, pigment, light — something intimate begins to appear.
It’s not a specific place. But it reminds you of something close.
This is the power of abstraction: from something unpredictable and fluid, something deeply yours can quietly emerge.
